My car went in for is 2nd service today and yesterday I noticed what I thought was a fault.
When I turned the ignition on the climate control fan didn't turn on. I am convinced that it has for the previous 2 years of ownership.
When I start the engine after a few seconds the fan turns on as it should and everything else seems to be working.
My car is a 2013 model and I usually leave the Climate Control on Auto.
My garage says they can find no fault and the have tried another car and it is the same.
The VW technician is supposed to be contacting me tomorrow to discuss as he had gone home by the time I collected my car this evening.
How does yours work? Does it turn on after a few seconds of being on Ignition only?
If I get some responses on here that agree with me then hopefully I can convince the technician there is a fault. Unless I'm going mad and have imagined it

Checked mine this morning, the auto and a/c lights come on with ignition and then fan starts after car has been running for a few seconds. I'm sure it comes on sooner in the summer when set to cold and then after a few seconds in winter. Could be wrong though it's been a while since had it on cold settings!

Mine does not do that .i.e. it doesnt turn on with ignition fire-up!
The only time it does is if I left it on before I turn off the car on previous start-up

I leave mine on Auto all the time so it's always running when the engine is on, but it's not starting up on next ignition and I thought it did previously.dimexi wrote:Mine does not do that .i.e. it doesnt turn on with ignition fire-up!

The fan does not engage with only the ignition on. This is with the controls set to auto and a/c on. I leave them on all the time. If I turn them off before turning off the engine then they remain off next time the car is started. Hope this helps mate.
