Facelift 1.4tsi in Urano Grey

Post by Greyscale »

Here's my brand new car, picked it up on Saturday!

Specs are: 1.4tsi manual in Urano Grey with:
- rear tinted windows
- rear view camera
- RNS315
- Keyless entry
- colour MFD

Was a bit worried about the colour (hadn't seen it in person until I picked up the car) in case it would be quite flat and dull, but it's turned out really nice, chuffed with it. As mentioned elsewhere the new gauges look good too, they look far more robust and stylish in real life than they do in images.

Hmmmmm. Not sure what to make of this! I like the colour, the front end doesn't look much different. I don't like the back end as much. the seats and the steering wheel look like they could be out an UP! The gauges are very Focus ST, but nice. What are they, oil temp, boost and oil pressure?

Do you have any plans for it? As long as you're happy, that's all that matters!

No plans - I'm more of a casual driver (the trim is the basic level which is probably why it looks simple to you :p) Gauges are oil temp, stopwatch/old school digital clock, and turbo.

Its a pretty big upgrade for me in every way (previous car was a Citroen C1), loving it right now!

something that I don't like on the Facelift is the speedometer - it has both MPH and KPH and looks really cluttered, I have to look really closely to see what the speed is. I believe that previous versions only have MPH on RHD cars. The MFD only shows KPH too which is annoying.

Not my car but it looks like this:

Very nice Greyscale and great pictures - thank you very much for sharing!

I agree with the speedometer, I did not realise the speed markings were like that, it is way too cluttered and difficult to read, what were they thinking. Instruments should be easy to read with a split second glance, but the marks on there mean you may have to study it for a second or so until you get used to it.

I see what you mean about the Speedo! I wonder why the did that? Bit of an upgrade from a C1!

Looks awesome Greyscale! Love the colour (I chickened out of the grey).

I found the speedo strange too with the markings around the outer backlit edge - took some getting used to. Hopefully I'll get my hands on VCDS at some point and enable the large MPH display in the MFD (amongst other things).
