Windscreen steaming up issue

Post by samwhunt »

This may be really simple fix but during my frustration I have not been able to find it, so I'm hoping someone can advise.

As I step into my candy 11 plate 1.4 scirocco, straight away I take advantage of my heated seats leather seats. As I am driving to work I constantly have to battle with the windscreen heating up. My 2 options are a steamy screen or having to put the aircon on, getting cold hands but a clear screen. I usually alternate every 4 or 5 minutes having the air con on then off. Obviously the airflow is on the windscreen vents but air still finds it way to freeze my hands. I was wondering whether the heat from the seats is contributing to this problem? Is there an obvious fix enabling the windscreen not to steam up without having the air con on.

Also extra condensation appears on the lower part of the windscreen, which disappears when I put the wipers on :S

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I've got exactly the same issue but all I'm doing is putting my air con on the hottest option and it sorts out my windscreen and warms the car inside.

Same here temp is around 23.5 and turn on the front screen blower, the air con comes on automatically but it clears the screen without being too cold
