Buying gt tdi 170

Post by Fraseb01 »

Hi All,
I am a newbie after some good information, I am looking to purchase the gt tdi 170bhp about a 4 yr old car with lowish miles, what are the main issues to look out for and which gear box is the best option normal or dsg, I am willing to travel for the right car if anyone is selling on here.
Cheers all. :) :) :) :) :)

Not really anything particular to look out for other than abnormal tyre wear on the rear causing drone / rumbling noise. Also, with.the high torque figure the fronts can also take a pounding so check them too.

Manual vs DSG is a personal preference. Drive both and buy whatever you prefer. If it's the DSG make sure the DSG oil and filter are changed.every 40k miles.

Also, the nice raspy noise you get when you accelerate is not from the engine or exhaust but is fake from the Soundaktor:-)

I have a TDI 177 2013 plate with 9000 miles on it, I bought it with 3000 miles on it. Its dark midnight blue, an R-line as well. Its economical and powerful and the best car I have ever owned. It looks the dogs danglers. It came with Pirelli P1 zeros but it now wears Goodyear Assymetric F1s, just a personal choice. If running costs and fuel are not an issue buy an R.
