What don't you like about your Rocco?
What don't you like about your Rocco?
As the title says, What dont you like about your Rocco?
I've heard how everyone loves their car (and they very good cars) but there must be things on the scirocco that owners dont like, or is there options which you wish you had got or didnt get? What about the colour you had chosen?
I havent bought a scirocco yet, but will be trading in my GTI for one, either when I can order the updated one in June or when the Studie R comes out in Jan 10. I absolutely loved the car when I had one for a day but there was just a few little things I didnt like. I didnt like the cup holders in the center console and the tray in front of the gearstick, they just look cheap compared to the golfs. Also I am now very happy that they are changing the steering wheel and aircon unit as these where exactly like the golfs.
So what about you?

I hate the ride height!
Only other bits i'd fault are the cheap bits the used to save money (dash trim, cup holders, no standard smokers pack, no bonnet struts, no mats standard, inconsistent interior lights), though the other options included are good. Would have been nice if it had it's own dash instead of the eos one, but this doesn't bother me too much.
Hopefully more choice in terms of alloys and interior colours will arrive. White or dark red leather would have been nice. Oh and an extra 50bhp would be handy too

I don't like the fact that mine is in the body shop waiting for a new door, and will be for at least another three weeks. I WANT MY CAR BACK!!!
Seriously, I'd like a bigger coat hook that you could hang a suit coat hanger on. The tiny thing on the passenger side is next to useless.

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
I love my car to bits but here are a few things that annoy me:
- I can hardly see anything in the center rear-view mirror (though the side mirrors are great)
- I wish the side mirrors would fold automatically when parking though
- GPS navigation was banned in Egypt until very recently, so my car doesn't have it
- The bluetooth isn't compatible with my Sony Erricsson K810 phone
- My car came with an ashtray although I don't smoke, I would rather have some more storage space
- It's the only car VW Egypt sells without floor mats included
- The 17" wheels are nice but 18" ones would have looked nicer
- No DSG launch control, and no information available on how to enable it
- The DSG torque limiter which limits the car's top speed although I'm sure it could go faster
- No ipod cable included for the MDI
- No DCC control
- Limited aftermarket tuning parts available, especially superchips! (though I'm sure this will change)
So my plan, once I'm over the financial shock of buying this car, is to get a new phone, floor mats, new wheels, and a superchips upgrade once it becomes available. That should take care of most of my issues

Same here. I've only had it a week but that's all I can think of.insanojackson wrote:mpg not upto figures published(not even close)
crappy wipers.
So far and for the next couple of weeks I'm only doing short traffic heavy journeys. After that though I should be able to get more driving time in and get a chance to really see what the car can do. Longer runs in different conditions should up my mpg.
As for the wipers I'm getting a bit of smear now on the drivers side where I wasn't at first.
I'll wait until I've done a few long runs and got a few more miles on it before I think about taking it back for that.
The cup holder doesn't bother me but I think I'd rather just just have another (covered) storage space there and no cup holder at all.
Apart from that I'm lovin it

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
It's a sports coupe with tractor like clearance between the tyres and the arches! It detracts from the sporty appearance of the car, although the ride quality is good. VW's show cars (sciroccos) all seem to be on aftermarket suspension and 19's to improve the looks.gc76 wrote:What is it with the ride height that a ot of people dont like??Candy Monster wrote:I hate the ride height!

VW have two different bluetooth options:
VW have two different bluetooth options:
The slightly less than very expensive "Bluetooth Basic", which is a basic headset (as seen from the phone) and works with more or less all phones.
The very expensive called "Bluetooth Premium" is actually a GSM phone build into the car, but without a SIM card. It then disables the SIM card in your phone, and uses that SIM cards ID to contact the GSM network (impersonating your phone). Only a handfull of new Nokia phones supports this "feature" called rSAP or remote SIM.

It's too high up! Even the lowest seat setting is still fairly high compared to what I was used to (1 and 3 series BMWs)gc76 wrote:What is it with the ride height that a ot of people dont like??Candy Monster wrote:I hate the ride height!
