Is my seatbelt ok?

Post by reefman »

Just noticed that the passenger belt on my 13 plate has the belt folded on itself and stitched to create a flap to stop the buckle sliding back which looks weird. The driver side has a sort of button through the belt to stop this is this normal. The stitching looks poor tbh and why would it be like this - the belt cut off ?

This is normal. Not sure why, i figured the loop might cause less rattle against the plastic trim when not in use, where as the drivers is always in use so not as issue.

Either way, it's normal :)

Cheers pal. The resultant loop is on outside when belt is worn you'd have thought they'd have at least put it out of sight on back

Seems daft to me

Yeah I was surprised too, but if you ever reverse your car without driver seatbelt on you'll soon realise why they did it. Knocks like crazy!! :)

Thanks guys - knowing my luck if I reverse off the drive to hear it I'll get pulled by a passing copper

Perfectly legal to remove your seatbelt whilst reversing if you wish.
