Apple's CarPlay (Pioneer/Alpine) Headunit

Post by samwhunt »

I have just bought my Rocco that only has RND, no bluetooth and no controls on the steering wheel.

I am looking to change this as I would like a sat nav, bluetooth and a much neater looking head unit. I have been reading up about Alpine and Pioneer releasing Apple's CarPlay through their various headunits. Being a self confessed apple addict, I'm just wondering if anyone else is considering it or is any more technically minded to think this is viable.

I imagine you mean RCD not RND...

Most people have achieved what carplay enables with the OEM equipment.

RNS 510 for sat nav
OEM bluetooth which supports A2DP for streaming music and voice commands through siri.

Plus if your jailbroken like me, download an app called 'Oksiri' from cydia which pretty much fully replicates car play with the bluetooth kit!
