First Scirocco purchased, where should i begin!

Hi all,

First post here so take it easy.
Just purchased my first scirocco after many months of consideration. I decided on a candy white 1.4tsi on a 2010 plate. At the moment its bog standard although it has got an impressive looking nav system built in.

If you were starting again what would you do and why?

1: wheel size / colour?
2: suspension? Drop it or standard?
3: anything else worth considering?

At the moment im considering either the new style rs4 wheels or the old style r32 wheels but unsure about colour. Black or white is likely as silver dont seem to look right on white cars in my opinion.

Any wisdom aimed in my direction would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Having recently joined myself, I can say that the residents are a helpful bunch. So you've no worries.

I'm still waiting on my Roc, but from copious amounts of browsing over the last 2 months, I feel I can answer your questions....although, they are pretty vague answers.

1: That's so personal and subjective a choice. What I would say, is that there are plenty of pic's in The Showroom section. Check them out and see what you like. There are also a couple of PhotoShop whizzes around, so pick a few good photo's out and stick a post up.

2: 99.99999% would say drop it. Even the R does look a little 4x4-ish. How you drop it and how low....well, there are plenty of threads on that.

3: Again, very subjective. What I'd say is that whatever you can envisage doing, someone on here has probably already done it or failed doing it. Use the search function (else feel the wrath of Trix )and if in doubt, give a shout.

1. maybe CW or silver next time.
2. I love the 18" Inters so would keep them.
3. Lower it a bit (I hate over lowered cars).

Dont fgorget all the other potential mods: motorized mirrors, cruise, VCDS tweaks, bluetooth etc...

Go for anthracite powder coat wheels. I did and they look great. Not black as too common

I have a candy white and I had my 19" wheels powder coated dark anthracite but with a satin finish rather than gloss and I think they look fab.

You can see pictures of them on this thread. Paid £300 for it at First Aid Wheels in Hampstead, London.

Brill choice =) I have a Candy White TDI 170.

Love the wheels, peelers I've heard them being called, RS6 wheels I believe.

And.. this site has caused me to spend a grand this week haha =/
