Hi guys
My rocco is coming up to its 4yr service. running like a dream at the moment, no errant noises or random warning lights etc. Its done 39k and has warranty up until July.
Its due a major service which according to the online booking is @ £259.
My question is about the cambelt change. I know its been discussed in previous threads (without conclusion) but naturally i'm apprehensive about dropping £419 (or £499 with waterpump). Has everyone got this done when doing their 4yr service or have they deferred it until the next service? Would VW demand that its done?
Ideally I would like to wait for my next minor service @ 50k (in August 2014) as money will be less tight!
If I do get it done, should I go for just the cambelt or the cambelt+waterpump? Will VW recommend which option is most appropriate?
thanks and apologies for all the questions. its the first service under my ownership

On a 2010 car the cambelt change is now 5 years. It's only 4 years for 9/2009 cars and older. Mileage limit is around 120k miles so no need based on that.

When you decide to get it done, do the water pump too. False economy not to.
Make sure the tensioner is also replaced
