Rattling noise - glovebox area

Hi,

Can anyone shed any light on a fairly quiet rattling noise that goes on for a few seconds whenever I switch the car on? It seems to be coming from behind the glove box sort of area and it's really starting to bug me!!

It may be from the motor controlled flaps that mix and direct air for the climate control system.

Does yours do this too or do I have a problem on my hands?

No, mine doesn't do it but I know a lot of MK5 Golfs suffer from sticking flaps but I would describe it more of a clicking than a rattle.

To be fair, you could also describe it as a clicking.....it's a bizarre noise

Just out of curiosity did you manage to sort the noise as I believe mine is doing the same thing when I drive up to around the 60mph mark.

Mine does it at low revs 1500-2000 then its gone?
