kenwood dnx520vbt info??

Post by emmseegee »

Hi all,
Only had a quick search on here and limited opportunity to mess around with the head unit in my new car but not overly excited with it as yet.

The screen layout/menus etc are a bit rough and the response is slow, after looking around quickly online i see that my software version 1.2 has been replaced with a version 1.4 but my first attempt at following the instructions to update this has failed..... anyone been there and done it?

Also, my garmin maps are out of date, this I havent yet tried to rectify but has anyone any idea as to wether this is a free service or what is involved in the process?

I have read elsewhere on here that the armrest audio connection isnt compatible with aftermarket devices. Is there anyway to rectify this by means of attachments or converters etc?

To be honest, the stereo does more than any car stereo I have ever had before but it teases more than it delivers and has left me wondering if i should sell it and upgrade to a newer sexier model. :)

Suggestions or tips welcome gents.

I looked at the me wood but went for an RNS510 DAB instead. Very happy with it indeed and plenty around on the forums, eBay etc. HTH ;-)
