Window issues

Post by sbull92 »

So went out to my car this morning and unlocked it and as soon as I pressed the button I knew it was a mistake.

The frost seemed to have frozen it up and the window didn't come down a little bit to open the door so I locked it again immediately and sprayed a lot of de-ice on the edges to try and release it.

So.. I unlocked it again and it tried to open the window again, struggled for a second then opened about an inch and half and wouldn't close again! :fall: I tried unlocking, locking,engine on and off but it wouldn't go back up. Luckily it did go back up after a few mins.

Just wondered if this is a common thing to happen, that the window won't move until the car thinks it's safe to do so or something? Anyone else experienced this?

From now on will make sure I de-ice BEFORE unlocking.

Next time once you're in you will need to follow the window reset process http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... t=+#p93185" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd also advise (if you aren't already aware of it) buying a 'Gummi Pflege Stift' (it's a German 'rubber care stick' product), which has been mentioned a few times on various threads on here. I applied it today to my rubber seals after my windows were a little 'reluctant' this morning. Haven't had an opportunity to see how effective it is yet - all it has done is cause a smear on both windows - but the feedback from other users has been positive, so it's worth a shot.
