Looking into Sciroccos
Looking into Sciroccos
Introduced myself the other night so just to follow up on that i am looking into the possibility of buying a used scirocco, however i am on somewhat of a budget. Ideally i need to keep it below 10k for it to be a possibility. This limits my choice a lot obviously as most in this price range seem to have done 130k + miles.
I probably put in around 200 miles a week with the occasional bigger journeys every so often.
so aye just looking for a bit of advice on whats out there and if you guys think its possible to pick up something decent at the price i am looking at.
Cheers

Re: Looking into sciroccos
if you are going petrol with that sort of mileage i'd check that the tensioner has the upgraded parts
Golf 7R - Golf 7R - BMW M2
Re: Looking into sciroccos
Was not really sure whether id be going for petrol or diesel, I know mileage wise im probably not going to save much by going for diesel but if there was 1 available around the same used price would it be worth it?
Re: Looking into sciroccos
If everything else is equal yes it would - provided you like the car... you can often find equally priced diesels on the used market - mine was one of them!
Re: Looking into sciroccos
Thought that might be the case. Have my eyes on a few at the moment, from what I have read on other threads im better to get a GT if possible? How are people finding them as they near 100k ...or is it more a hit or miss?

Re: Looking into sciroccos
I found my TDI got noisier after 40k miles but this could be down to the recent servicing. Company car and the usual lazy garage that dont do the work but charge for it anyway. ie. oil is basically empty :s

Just wondering what people thought of this

Re: Looking into sciroccos
That looks pretty good to me, considering how well these cars hold their value. It'd be interesting to know how it's clocked up that mileage - if it's all been long motorway drives, it's probably not an issue. I doubt you'd find anything as good for cheaper.proxis wrote:Just wondering what people thought of this

Re: Looking into sciroccos
I would think £9,500 should be nearer the mark on that one, I noticed it does not have leather.
Just comparing my 2.0 TSI (09 plate) the dealer said they would offer me £12k back in June and it only has 17k on the clock.

Will give them a phone and see what is what. Negotiating may be interesting never bought a car from a dealer before and never really spent this much money on one but will have a chat with a mechanic friend hopefully get him to come have a look at it too

That's a TDI 170 rather than a 140 as the spec suggests. Red "I" badge and chrome exhausts

Re: Looking into sciroccos
That's a Viper Green and can be harder to sell as its not everyone's choice of colour so they may have had it for a while which makes them more open to negotiation. Personally I'd keep looking for a better deal.
I was offered £10,500 for my 09 1.4 TSi (160) in July with 35K on the clock and that would have gone on the forecourt at around £12,000. Sold it privately for £11,000 in the end.skippy wrote:I would think £9,500 should be nearer the mark on that one, I noticed it does not have leather.

Re: Looking into Sciroccos
As for the mileage seems majority of it has been long haul motorway driving. Negotiation wise been told what I expect is the usual being that there wont be much negotiation spec wise it is pretty much on the mark price wise etc etc.......I have seen it on the site for a while so suspect that your right in saying it's not many peoples first choice. .....tbh I don't hate the colour but far from love it. Seems like I will be waiting on a better deal unless they are willing to do a fair bit of negotiating , which atm they don't seem to want to.
Was just wondering how people found the change of a manual to a dsg box?
Sorry for the noob bombardment of questions

So seems like that price wont change, so will be biding my time until something I can afford comes up . Was beginning to think that maybe I should look into something else a bit cheaper however saw a roc today and thought I must have it! haha
