Before i go to VW, my cruise control has stopped working, any ideas what it could be?

I have no idea, however im guessing if your dashboard light lights up to say its on id say its more of a major issue however if it doesnt im guessing its an electrical problem between your control and the system??

it literally just doesnt work, no light or anything. think ill have to get VW to check it out. thank you
