2.0TDI 140 MPG
Have seen the 170 MPG topic and wondered what people with the 140 are getting MPG wise.
I havn't got BM I am getting an average of 48.8MPG according to the computer and about 46MPG calculated from fill up figures.
That is mainly windy A & B roads 25 miles per day roughly and got 546 miles on my last tank.

Re: 2.0TDI 140 MPG
On the motorway doing 70mph on cruise control I normally get over 60mpg on long journeys - in fact I'm getting a bit obsessed about trying to get over 60 on every motorway journey now!
If I drive on A roads it's more like high 40's - low 50's if I'm just following the flow of traffic and a lot less if I'm enjoying myself (using the 'fuel credit' I built up on the motorway is how I see it!) ;-)
I reset my MPG(2) reading every 1000 miles or so and that's at 48.9mpg at the minute after 600 odd miles.
PS - that's all based on the Roc's readings - not self calculated by the way.

Re: 2.0TDI 140 MPG
Just done another fill up last weeks and got 47 MPG from fill up figures and 48 on the computer with 560 miles.
Is anybody getting any better than that?

Yeah. Due to the good weather, my daily commute is about 55-60mpg on the computer and my accumulated average on the computer is sitting just under 52mpg.sbull92 wrote:Is anybody getting any better than that?

Still trying to break the 600 mile mark, always think of that Top Gear race where the trip computers said they ran out of fuel but they still had loads left, but always bottle it when the range gets to about 5 miles on the computer! ![shrug ](./images/smilies/shrug.gif)

I've got a 170 TDI and can get 600 miles between fill ups without even trying.sbull92 wrote:Still trying to break the 600 mile mark, always think of that Top Gear race where the trip computers said they ran out of fuel but they still had loads left, but always bottle it when the range gets to about 5 miles on the computer!

Do you do a lot of motorways and does the 170 really make that much of a difference?

Yes, I do a lot of motorway miles and can't comment on the difference as I've never driven a 140.

Re: 2.0TDI 140 MPG
I get around 600-625miles form a tank of fuel, this is a combined driving not all motorway, this seems easy to achieve as I can do this most tank fills, generally on the motorway I run at 78mph, car runs well at that speed.
Very happy with my 140, I have mapped it the same day of purchase which I am the 2nd owner, on an average commute of motorway/a roads & 20 miles I average 58-62mpg when I get to my destination.
I use to have a BMW E46 330cd running 275bhp before my Roc, I use to get 45mpg from that !
Very happy with the Scirocco, love it![Clap ](./images/smilies/clapclap.gif)

Re: 2.0TDI 140 MPG
My 140 with DSG averages 47.7mpg, (according to the trip computer, which was about right when I checked it against my own figures). This is on a regular mix of round town, motorway/dual carriageways and country roads.
On longer motorway journeys I get about 58mpg (with a best of 63.6mpg on a local dual carriageway with a 50mph limit, and a police car behind me!
)
'Spirited' driving on empty country roads can result in 30 or so mpg.
Cold weather (below 10C) reduces fuel consumption by an easy 10mpg on my car.
