Retrofit Bluetooth
Hi guys I want to retrofit Bluetooth to my 09 scirocco
Has the red screen 510 in it and I've been advised to just get 7P6 035 730 B
And it will just be plug and play?
Can anyone confirm this please?
Cheers Jon

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
if you don't already have a bluetooth module fitted in your car under the driver seat (the earlier rSap modules) - this will NOT be plug and play. You will have to run some wiring and figure out where to install the module (below the seat OR behind climate controls
The 7P6 035 730 B will work in your car, but I am not sure you will have control of the unit on your redline MFD, or through your MFSW (steering wheel controls). Research into compatibility with both.

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
So is there a seperate module to the 7P6 035 730 B? I have found one that comes with loom and unit

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
There are quite a few modules: top ones are 3C8 035 730 X (where X represents the model revision) - these tend to support rSap (typically Nokia) and HFP (iPhone and Android) phones. You also have 7P6 035 730 X ones - these are exclusively HFP phones.
Both I have listed above are the top two that support pretty much all new smartphones on the market
Because you have a Red DIS, you might not be able to control your phone via MFD using the 7P6 modules (after revision B or C, I cant remember).
Note:
HFP = Hands Free Profile
rSap = Remote Sim Access Protocol (I think).
I would advice to buy one that has a pre-prepared loom. If you dont, be prepared to do a lot of wire splicing, soldering and cutting

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
Fiscon basic plus might be an option for you http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/volksw ... s-vw-skoda" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It piggie backs the plugs on the rear of the rcd510 you just need to run a microphone cable up the A pillar

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
I agree with above - kufatec basic plus will work well with your redline MFD.
My only input to that is - removing the A pillar is very fiddly! However, a fitting guide for fiscon is in the roccopedia, if you want to have a look

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
I'm looking to do this,too.
I've got an MY2010 w/RNS510 - mine looks to have the wiring in place already under the drivers seat.
I've been looking for part 1Z0 035 729 C. Will this be plug and play?
Also, what's the deal with the foam surround (1K0 919 737 M)? Required, or not?

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
If your car already has the Bluetooth module under the seat, getting another oem Bluetooth should be plug and play. Furthermore, you should already have the polystyrene there if you say things are already in place.
Never heard of just the wiring being in place without the module being present.
EDIT: The BT Module you are looking at is quite old (Week 22, 2009), but it is compatible with HFP (Hands Free Profile .i.e. iPhones and Androids) and not rSap according to rosstech.
Not sure if it does bluetooth streaming though

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
No BT/foam module present under the seat. It wasn't a standard feature for my model year, and from decoding the boot sticker it doesn't look like it was specified as an option. But, there is definately some wiring down there...?
I thought the 1Z0 035 729 C was the most recent?

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
The Most recent as far as I know is 7P6 035 730L (they might have an M revision out now, I am not sure).
As I said, the model you mentioned is fit for purpose, but it might lack some functionality when it comes to bluetooth streaming.
There is always wiring under the seat I think, doesn't necessarily mean it's for the bluetooth. If you can definitely see the unused harness plug that goes into the bluetooth, then you might be luck. Otherwise, it could be for the heated seats/Seat belt or whatever wires go under the seat.
My car is the same model year as yours and I have wires under the seat too, but I dont think they were for the bluetooth. Mine had an aftermarket rebranded bury unit which I had to uninstall

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
Thanks for the advice, dimexi.
There is definately an unused harness there, so I'm really hoping for a plug and play solution. These carsystems.pl guys have the 7P6 035 730L for sale. Any experience of the Company, or if this module will work for me?

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
I bought my module (that same one) off carsystems.pl - very fast delivery, top notch!
Make sure you find the plug at the end of this harness under your seat.
Also, The carsystems.pl module comes with the polystyrene box

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
Hi All,
I was just about to commit to shelling out the €200 for one of these units
http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-bluetooth-k ... id417.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
when I noticed the comment at the end of the item saying that "VAS / VCDS Coding after installation required".
As I already have a 5NO 035 730C module installed under my drivers seat which is fully functional with the white MFD and steering wheel controls (but due to rSAP won't actually connect to any of the modern phones which me or the other half have got) will I actually need any re-coding to be done?
Thanks

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
If you already have factory Bluetooth under the seat (together with the the mic) just replace it with a newer unit (as detailed in dimexi's helpful posts) - its then just 'plug n play', no coding needed!

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
Hey Guys, dimexi,
So I got around to buying a B/T unit from carsystems.pl. It was the 7P6035730K unit as opposed to the L, as apparently that was all that was available...
As mentioned I was hoping for a plug and play option, but I plugged it and it doesn't play.
For some background. When I got the car I went exploring for the B/T, and found the cover with broken fastenings. There is a cage and what I assume is the correct harness. I presume the B/T unit was pulled from the car. Also, the car has a rear view parking camera, which doesn't work.
So, back on track. The new B/T unit has one 'serial' port, not two like the older units. I have THREE connectors...
HELP!
Advice would be appreciated on what I need to make everything work, assuming the parking camera is involved in this...
Cheers
Steve

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
Thanks for the pictures, it helps in knowing part of what's going on.
The bluetooth module is ok, and it is meant to have only one port. The other 2 connectors in your loom would be to do with the Antenna for the rSap module, which are not going to be of use in this new module - 7P6035730K (so you can leave them as they are)
Might be a stupid question - but did you ensure the bluetooth plug went ALL the way in (and was secure) when you connected it up? Might be worth taking out your RCD/RNS unit to see the connections at the back - for all you know, it might be completely disconnected from the bluetooth loom (and I suspect it is).
Let's know how you get on

Hopefully, I get a better outcome.

Still no joy.
Part number on the small brown connector is 7L 0 035 608 E. Any ideas?

Re: Retrofit Bluetooth
As I said, extra connectors are for the rsap aerial. Did you take out your head unit to trace the loom?
