Been for a test drive today and considering placing an order for the 177 dsg r-line, just unsure whether to go for the 2.0tsi dsg or even stump the extra for an R.
Was impressed with the 177, didn't sound at all like a diesel, pulled well and had a very throaty exhaust, in fact a bit to throaty. Dsg box is a fantastic bit of kit though. Had a mk5 Gti manual few years back and just thinking back I think I liked the Tsi slightly better, just felt that bit faster and lighter/nimble, although as I say the 177 felt nice.
We want candy what's thoughts on black over the standard silver 19"s?

Re: 177 dsg r-line
The throaty sound is not coming from the exhaust but from the artificial sound generator.
Re: 177 dsg r-line
Didnt realise, can this be switched off?
Cars ordered now, white r-line, dsg 177 tdi and went for the standard silver 19's.

Re: 177 dsg r-line
Sadly not - it can be removed (with varying degrees of ease which seems to depend on the age of the car).
