Wouldn´t this work in plastic and rubber parts? Side of tires for example..

It isn't completely transparent, it leaves a milky haze. Hope that helps!

anyway, could be good to coat the rust risky areas like the wheel arches, door hinges where appearance is not important.

Neverwet kits now available on Ebay for around £40 including postage and covers 10 to 15m2. Might have to get some and try it on a few things.

Check out GTechniq, they have a range of Hydrophobic coatings for cars (maybe not quite as effective as the one in the video, but similar principal). I use G1 on my windows and C4, C5 on plastics, metal parts (exhaust, wheels, etc) and I love them.

Their EXO Coatings are supposedly very good indeed. I'd like to try it out on my paintwork but they're a little pricey and I'd imagine quite fiddly to apply unless you have experience with them.
