Accelerator/Throttle pedal stiff

Post by Bushiee »

Hi all, having been away a few weeks took the rocco out yesterday which was cool but the accelerator seems to be really stiff especially when i press it down lots, but when engine is off its not stiff at all, is there some kind of resistance it puts on sometimes or am i going nuts lol??

Very strange - its 'fly by wire' so the accelerator is a seperate unit only connected to the engine by a bundle of wires and a plug/socket. Pretty sure it can't work to change the resistance of the pedal itself...

Don't worry. Its just a natural reaction by your right foot to the ever increasing price of fuel :D

I have had this problem today, the pedal is really quite firm for the last half of the travel, it almost feels like a mat is stuck underneath! Very odd. No loss of performance.

Try swapping out the accelerator unit and see if the fault remains....

Think I have sorted it, something 'clicked' back into place when I was trying to see if it was a mechanical fault.Thought it had to be as the pedal was still giving resistance with the engine off. Much free er now.
