Incase you didnt already know

Post by maffcliff »

Good Morning All.

On monday night someone broke in to our house to try and steal the keys to my Rocco R!

We have a UPVC front door with a euro Cylinder and so your all aware those locks can be snapped in under 30Seconds.

Luckly i woke up and they done a runner before they got to find my keys...

But i was informed by the police and the locksmiths that if i had had a anti snap cylinder they could have not got in!

There only like £20 online so i would reccomend getting yours changed if you have one.

I always thought that the UPVC doors were secure.

Hi Mattcliff,

Sorry to hear you have had this experience. These are quite worrying times at the moment as 3 of my freinds who live around the Midlands area have had their houses smashed into, and they have been threatened for the keys for the cars, usually holding weapons to them. They have all decided to move now and won't go home but its really shocking. All diferent makes of cars but there just seems to be a crimewave occuring at the moment for stealing and selling on cars.

I would recommend anyone who has a car that stands out and fast would update the security on the front doors if not, I have.

I hope you don't have anything like this happen again!

Regards,

GG

It is very worrying, its such a nightmare that people seem to want to take what people have worked hard for.

And its been driving me mad if they had come up to our room and to wake with some at the end of my bed.

Our house will be like a fort when i have finished securing it :D

Alarms being fitted this sunday!

Shame we cant wire our cars and front door handles up to the mains!

I live in quite a reputable area and it seems to be the case that no matter where you are based they are still going to try and break in.

Luckilly our road has also had the new street lamps fitted with white LEDs', they've been going up a lot recently, so our hill is lit up like a christmas tree. I think if anyone pushed their luck here it would end very badly for them.

I think you are being very responsible doing that though as its not just about the car, it's the families safety as well, especially as most of the time they do carry weapons!

Glad to hear it's all being sorted :)

Regards
