Ignition barrel...

Post by Sincs »

Another question about another niggle with my car....

Anyone have any problems with their ignition??
Mine accepts the key fine and switches on no problem, but when turning the car off the key sticks a bit and won't turn to the off position without a bit of a wiggle.
Thought it may have been the key, but the same happens with the spare so guess the problem is with the barrel.

Just wondering if anyone else has/had this problem? It is a common fault/weak point on the scirocco/golf??

Yes, same here. Also, the media system (radio), dash lights etc should all go off when the key is removed, but occasionally stay on, requiring a reinsert and withdraw. I expect it will run in or get sorted when I visit VW.( car only done 2500 miles)

Mine doesn't do the dash thing. It has got a years warranty left so will take it in to get looked at.
