Great. The only spec difference between you and me is you have satnav.

I really don't get this at all.

I need mine in the normal position to get on my drive too, but no need to disable, just have the switch in any position except 'L' and the mirror won't drop when you select reverse. I just move the switch over to 'L' when I know I'm going to need it for parking spaces or next to a kerb.

I specced my Golf to have the folding mirrors because it had the "left mirror angles down in reverse" to protect my alloys. My guess is that you only get this option when you specify the folding mirrors for the Scirocco too. It may be in the convenience menu so that it can be activated when built for those builds that have the folding mirrors ? I'm also guessing that there is some 'control' box required to allow the L/H mirror down option, but I can't think why ! The mirror has all the motors etc. maybe it needs a 'memory' ?

Woohoo... just got back from collecting my new Scirocco... not had mcuh of a play yet as I just wanted to get it home safely :hyper: Although it chucked it down on the way home.... :grumpy:
...Anyway, I had a quick check in the menu while in traffic and I have the Mirror *somthin* option :D But I'm yet to confirm that it works - plus I didn't get a chance to go in to it as I started moving again, but it's there!!!

Will confirm later - but... WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOooooo.....

There's a couple of mirror options but if you have it, on the convenience menu, it will have Mirror DOWN as one of the main choices on that screen.

I'm beginning to think it's a build date thing.

 I was wrong... I just have the Mirror Adjust option! So it must be the Folding Mirrors which do it!

Oh well

Looking on VAG-COM there's an option that suggests the mirror down option is only available if you have memory seats, but I'm guessing all of you that do have the mirror down option, don't have memory seats! I haven't seen the option on my MFD but I'm going to check to see what happens with the adjuster in 'L'...

Nope :( No mirror down option and no mirror movement with the adjuster in 'L' and selecting reverse. I'll have another fiddle with the VAG-COM options another day.

There is no memory seat option on the Scirocco at the moment, i don't have the electric adjust seat option but have the mirror down function.

The new golf has the option of luxury pack which states - "Electrically foldable door mirrors, reverse activated kerb view adjustment on passenger's side" so I'm surprised any sciroccos have it when it seems to be advertised on the new golf - but the mirror pack seems to be it - would it be worth complaining to the dealer if you have that pack but no mirror down???

Not that it affects me

My Roc was delivered 2 Dec (vat at 15%) build week was 45 spec includes DSG, (no Zenons or pan roof), leather with winter pack, cruise, reverse parking, flat tyre warning, sat nav with Dynaudio and elec folding mirrors. I do not (repeat not) have the mirror down option. I seems to have most of the options that may affect availability of the mirror down option except Zenons how does build week 45 compare with others who don't have the mirror down option

Can it be enabled by VAG COM anyone know

Right, I've activated an option in VAG-COM which has given me the Mirror Down option on the MFD, but it doesn't seem to do anything, and I've tried with the mirror adjuster in all positions :(

It's a long thread yes, but a problem worth getting to the bottom of if we can.

Do you think if someone wrote to VW on behalf of the Forum explaining that there's possibly 1000+ people hanging on their reply that it might jerk them into responding
with a definitive answer?

Or is that a silly idea?....

Incidentally, in the handbook I received with the car the convenience menu includes the Mirror Down option - very odd that it does not appear in the convenience menu actually on the car.
