Become part of your Scirocco's history

Post by Colpesh »

My parents moved into a house recently that is about 250 years old and on helping my father lift a chest of drawers up the stairs I knocked off one of the bannister ends which was loose.

As I went to place the end back on we noticed a load of pieces of paper in the recess.

They are all poems/notes written by the previous owners and can be found under each bannister end.

Each of them mentions the house and what good lives they all lead in it.

This got me thinking.

Seeing as I'm so pleased with my Rocco, I wanted to start off a trend and see if I can get you all to do the same.

Using the following url (Roccopedia) I removed my steering wheel badge and signed and dated the back of it with my Scirocco Central Tag (Colpesh). Or you could just write on a piece of paper and place the badge over it!!

http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/roccop ... dge_Change

I will attach a picture of mine soon.

It would be great if we got every one to do this and then in years to come others can come on here and read about the history of the car they have aquired through one way or another.

Let me know what you think and if you do it, post pics of the signature.

Regards

Are you insane.... next you'll be asking us all to keep a diary of our 'feelings' about the car each day and insert it in the service book

Do you mind me asking if you also own an old beetle and burn insense?

When I took the interior out of my CRX, it had a newspaper under roof lining from the day is was delivered.

I thought that was a nice touch...

Also... i'm sure there is a section in the user manual for recording each keepers name etc... to save pulling the car apart why not write a note in there then stick that in the glovebox so the new keeper has a nice surprise when they buy it...and you never know they might also think it's a good idea and do the same. Then you can go down in hostory as the bloke that started the trend way back in 2009 :D :D

Wow!

That is a good idea, If only I had thought of that in the first place I wouldn't of needed to write that post.

Thanks Savage, you are my Hero!

ive just ripped out my headlining got a black marker and i now have (RICH WAZ ERE 2009) on the roof it looks cool shame no one will see it when the headlining goes back, maybe someone should tip off tony robinson from time team to check behind steering wheel badges, maybe we could put a post on rocopedia how to get the badge off with a trowel, anyone know how to do carbon dating???
