The Upgrade > The Viper

Post by candyboytsi210 »

Well the 2.0 TSi DSG is here , i've had it a week or so now and really enjoying that extra power. The DSG box is pretty great too, just getting used to no clutch
But other than that, gonna start some mod's soon, nothing with the engine yet as still under warranty and but gonna start a few visual mods, LED's , Powder coated alloys, Wrap the roof/mirrors,
badges. Not much more i can think of doing yet. But here pictures of my previous candy together with my viper.

More pictures to come, they are not the best, but shows viper and candy together for anyone deciding on what colour to pick.

Just a quick question, the exhaust are not chrome on my 2.0tsi , i think they are just dirty, what could i use to polish it ?

Nice car mate. I do like the viper green, makes car stand out more because its less common colour. But candy is still the best! :).. Bet your neighbors think your a bit of a scirocco nut having 2 on the drive.

Changed over the car now from the loved Scirocco :(

I do miss it but i needed economy and wanted a more kind of luxurouis feel inside the car which the scirocco didnt have for me. (only the screen was a main thumbs up)

I also had a few issues with the Roc which they couldn't find a fault with.

So i went out and purchased a 320D M sport Coupe, Titanium Silver, 18's, Heated Leathers, Seatbelt Giver, Xenons, Etc Etc, Loving it at the moment, will always miss a roc, soon will get a R when the times right and saved up.

So if you need economy surly an r is out of the question for a future car. That would be worse than the gt you just got rid of...

To be honest, i do 15k miles a year. i just thought a diesel would be appropiate for the things i do now, in a year or so things can change, im more likely to get a job transfer nearer to home which will reduce it to 10k a year which is where the R could potentionly be ok. The GT was a great car no doubt about it, fuel economy wasnt bad at all, just obviously the 320d is better hense unleaded/diesel. if you can see my point. what are you averaging on your 170 ? mpg/miles to a full tank

Yep only 2 months, i done around 4k miles in the car. I really miss it but the car had a fault which vw couldnt find, so many rattles, squeaks, tapping noises, etc i just wasn't happy with it, im sure there is another scirocco out there for me in a years time which i will have no issues with. I had a chance to change and took it. I can still say the 2.0 Tsi dsg is my favourite car :)

How about a 2.0 TDI 170 dsg is a good mix of performance and economy just slightly slower than the petrol 2.0. as for the engine tapping noises my 1.4tsi has done it from new I put it down to a charictaristic of the car, VW gave it the all clear on the service.

Let us know how you get on with the BMW... I would echo whats said above - for your 10k to 15k a year the 170TDI would have been a very sensible bet.

I did consider a 170tdi but it was the same car with a diesel engine, where as ive had a 2.0tsi in the scirocco, i didnt know if id be happy with the less power from a scirocco! I do miss it but hey, and why do you guys say b'sciroccos a better bet? Bmw 320d m sport is ok theres not enough power like a 2.0tsi but theres economy!

We were suggesting the 170TDI as its considered the best compromise between power and ecconomy in the Scirocco range. Obviously you can't have both at the same time!

Of course haha, if i could have both i would! but yeah i was just asking in general why you prefer a scirocco 170TDI over the 3 coupe 177. :)

Well for a start I have a brand loyalty to VW (dont ask me why, lol) and an aversion for cars that are rear-wheel drive due to previous bad expriences on wet roundabouts! So for me a BMW would never be an option.

To be honest I have always driven Golfs until December when I got the Roc :-)

This is my 1st Vw. And I love it, will be one of many no doubt.
You could of got a 170 roc and just remaped it. You would then have similar performance to the 2.0 tsi and have great economy aswell .. Best of both worlds whilst still driving a roc..
