.m3u playlist help!

Post by djredrupp »

Hello All!

My first post on here, after a while searching through!
Ive just got a 2.0 170tdi scirocco in rising blue - so far its been awesome!!!

however, a bit of help needed with the rns510 media unit!
Im transferring my files from itunes to the unit, via a 16gb sd card (working fine), in the File structure HDD/Music/Artist/Album/Song, and this works okay (admittedly not as slick as an ipod but hey...), but i need a bit of help getting playlists to work! :?

Ive exported the .m3u playlist from itunes, and realised this is set up in the file structure of itunes. Is there any way i can change this to the rns510 file structure, without manually going through each entry on textedit ? a painful process if not with a few hundred songs in each playlist!

Cheers!

Well I've never managed to get playlists to work with my RCD510 and as I recall others have tried and failed too.
If you get it working then let us know.

m3u works fine for me. I have them in the root of my USB stick with relative path to the mp3 (/music/artist/album/song.mp3). I wrote a c# program to scan my HD. To do manually, try a search/replace using an editor like notepad++ where you can load all the files in at to the change across all of them at once.
