Turbo valve / seal leaking

Post by sarit84 »

Within the last year I have had my turbo seal replaced twice. Once again the seal is leaking oil. VW are replacing the seal again under warranty, I have an aftermarket K&N cone filter on the car. The technician thinks the filter is taking in more air than it requires, which is causing the valve assembly to fail.

Has anyone else had turbo seals being replaced this often with an aftermarket air filter?

They replaced the turbo recirculation valve seal, under warranty. They kept insisting that the aftermarket filter was the cause. If this was to occur again, I would insist the work to still be carried out under warranty as it is a on going problem!!! Only time will tell.
