Bluetooth compatibility

Post by tony4147 »

Just collected a pre reg Scirocco Tsi this evening with RNS510 satnav and bluetooth. Where can I find a list of compatable phones as my Samsung Omina7 won't pair with it.

Thanks, that's a huge disappointment, we all have Windows phones, Samsung Omina 7, Nokia Lumia and it looks like none are compatible with the system and I don't really want an iphone

Looking on the net and forums it appears that the phones we have Samsung Omina 7 and Nokia Lumia don't support rSAP.
Is it possible to change the bluetooth module so that these phones will work, and if so how much am I looking at?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't need to be rSAP, that was an issue with earlier bluetooth modules. My car is a MY12 and I've connected both my Android Sony phones without any issue. Those are not sSAP and are connected as HPP profile. Also allows streaming of audio over A2DP.

It says incompatible phone, the phones are Windows 7.5 phones I think that has something to do with it, the phones do not use rSap

I don't think any phones use rSAP these days. It was only used on a handful of Nokias a few years back, hence why all the issues circa. 2009.

Not sure about iPhone 5 but 4 and 4s certainly are.

It may be worth contacting VW Customer Services and see if they plan a firmware update to support the lastest phones in the near future before jumping to the dark side.
