Problems follwoing RNS firmware and map update

Dear all

my first post for along time here since joining as I have mostly used the site as a very helpful resource. I am not up to speed with the RNS and its programming so please fogive my ignorance if this is a simple/known issue.

Recently I have bought (off ebay) a firmware update and map update for my RNS510 (version C). This is the first time I have updated firmware but the 2nd time I have updated the maps. Previous map update was all fine.

Before update: RNS510 with Part number: 1T0035680D and sw version 3810

Update now installed is: Map V.9 (apparently with speed cameras) and sw version 4120.

The seller claims to have installed his product and it is fully working ok. Reviews appear to agree with that.


Following update the issues are as follows:
1 - despite being able to select speed cameras as an option of POI to show on map screen, nothing actually shows. This is now also an issue for any POI showing on the map. I usually always have petrol stations showing on the map - even they do not show now. Therefore no POI will show on screen if selected

2- Satnav now does NOT show on the Highline dashboard screen

3- Radio does NOT show on the Highline dashboard screen (therefore not able to change channels via Highline

4- Dynaudio does not appear to be working. I can tell because at higher volumes music sounds awful and distorts where as before it was beautfiul and clear even at 50% volume etc.

Is this a problem with the firmware or will it be something that needs solving using VCDS? (something I am not familiar with using) or do I need to re-install the orinal firmware software?


Any help would really be appreciated as I am currently very disappointed.
