Passenger window loose...

Post by Peacock8 »

Hello!

A week ago suddenly the passenger electric window stopped working. First thing that happened was that the window didn´t go up after the door was closed. Then it seemd like the glass wasn´t attached to the lift anymore. I had to make some wedges so that the window wouldn´t fall down while driving. Were at the dealer today which btw is 2hrs away and they couldn´t fix it today. Even though they had a new lift and all. On top of that they said the switch had stopped working....

So got a Passat highline for a couple of days now. Boring! :)

Is this a common problem?

I remember this happened to a Mk4 Polo we used to have, the metal part that holds the window in place sheered off the guide at one of the sides, but only found out by taking off the door panel. Thought it was the electric motor for a start. Just ended up sorting it diy as it was an older car.
