Cam Belt Change and other engine issues
Hi Fellow Scricco owners, I have owned my 2ltr tsi GT 210BHP since new on a lease agreement, purchased in July 2010. Due to my job I do high mileage, the current mileage is approx 47000. Could anyone advise me if i should insist on the Cam belt being changed before the 3year warranty is up and if you can think of any other engine isues I should be looking out for VW to be checking or replacing. So far my baby has had two standard services, I am looking to keep the car for at least the next 3-5 years and so far touch wood have had no major issues, just brake pads changed. Everyones knowlegde and advise re the cam belt mainly would be appreciated. NB Keep flashing other scriccos on the road o look out for mine. KUG... Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading and happy and safe driving folks.

It's a chain so will not need changing for a long time, if at all.

Yes, buy yourself an annual VW warranty and have peace of mind. You can't predict what will happen and with all the electronic controllers on the car besides the engine & gearbox, its all expensive when it hiccups.

Re: Cam Belt Change and other engine issues
An idea of 2.0ltr prices is at the bottom of the first page in the link by chr15. It depends on how much the Scirocco is used during the year, so you need to contact them. Link is in the topic as well. On the VW(UK) website in that link you will find the policy document. All works through the dealership as though you have a new car sales 3 year warranty (dependent on level of cover you have selected). So once the dealer has your policy number on your file at the dealership, it works the same at the Service Desk as far as the owner is concerned, Dealer does all the "paperwork".
