ohhhh, I bet it's the folding mirrors... This is such a handy feature, I can't work out if I'm more excited about getting the car or seeing if I will have the option ha ha

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
think it must be a combo of folding mirrors and build date. Mine has the folding option and was built wk 7. Mirror down works, but only when the mirror adjustment knob is on L, otherwise it doesn't drop. Quite useful as sometimes you don't want it to. Neat feature to help avoid alloy scrapes.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Perhaps, maybe somebody without folding mirrors who's had a recent build could confirm? I think if you look back to the start of this thread then folk thought it was a combo of options xenons, mirrors, etc etc, but perhaps it's something as simple as build date alone?by easybreeze » Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:49 pm

as I trawl through the instruction book over the next few days I'll see if I can work out a definitive set if instructions on getting it going. I do have folding mirrors though.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
All I can say that in continental Europe this feature was included with Mirror Pack from 02.02.2008 onwards.
It wasn't there in Jan for example.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I was speaking to the dealers about this when i ordered my car a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the option is part of the Folding mirrors pack.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I have folding mirrors but my MFD convenience menu does not have a mirror down option.
So I'm even more confused now.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
If this was added as a software thing after mine was built does anyone know if it could be added at the dealership with a couple of VAGCOM tweaks?

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I was told by 3 sep workshop's thats its a factory fitted option, in the Manual it does have a * against it and at the bottom it says something along the lines of depends on the spec.Kev wrote:If this was added as a software thing after mine was built does anyone know if it could be added at the dealership with a couple of VAGCOM tweaks?
I have no idea honestly what you need, for a while I believed it was Xenons.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Maybe we need a poll to see if we can nail down what spec items have it.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Same spec as mine (apart from colour and dynaudio - I should add my Cruise was retro-fitted), I don't know what my Build week was but I know it was the 2nd week of September and I don't have the feature and I must admit I did get over not having it a few months ago, I'm only getting involved again as I would like everyone to get it from 2009 onwards but we still can't determine what you need to get it.martdy wrote:I have it (and the mirror down function) Build week 7 spec as below
So far I have learned that it's not something can be turned on via VAGCOM, the option is there but for it to work the car needs a specific electrical module which is factory fitted only.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Mine has the mirror down function - disabled it in the menu though as it makes parking on my drive more difficult - very good for normal parking spaces though.
