Accident in my Roc... Devestated

Post by JimmyBuk »

Had an accident on Thursday in my Roc. Some guy pulled out in front of the car in front of me and had to slam his breaks on, then I did, unfortunately ended up going in to the back of him, them someone in to the back of me.

Luckily no one was injured, just a little shook up which is the main thing.

Not come off too badly but it looks like its going to have to be new Front Bumper and a new Bonnet. Its bent it, you can see the creases just above the badge.

Also looks like the the light cluster has been pushed backwards as I when i've lifted the bonnet up, you can see where the bolts used to hold the bodywork on. Air-con is working so I think I got lucky that the radiator isn't damaged. The Gloss black grill just under the bonnet lip is smashed too so a new one of them by the looks of it.

At the back its not quite so bad, but it seems to have taken a chip out of the bumper, and its managed to push the Tailpipe trim over the edge of the Tailpipe. Mainly a few scratches so not as bad as the front.

Insurers have got a mobile estimator coming out on Tuesday to have a look from their approved repairers, although I'm going to get a few quotes from VW Authorised repairers to keep up the warranty on the Paintwork etc...

Gutted for you. I'd be well pi££ed off if it was me. Hopefully it will be as good as new when fixed. Nice colour by the way, not many about.

Well it just gets better.

Was all booked in a week on Tuesday to get repaired, then tonight someone has smashed into the car outside the house while I was in my room.

Totally wrecked the front of the car. Same place as before. Reported to the Insurance and they're sending out someone with a hire car tomorrow. Non fault claim this time, so I'll get a like for like car.

Just hope they dont write the car off, not the end of the world as I have GAP Insurance but not the point at the end of the day.

That's some bad luck!

Wouldn't have thought that would be a write off on a less than 1 year old car.

At least you know not to waste any money on the lottery.

Could have been worse, you could have just had it fixed and then got run into.

I would seriously consider reviewing where you park the car.

I assume you caught the person who did it as it's a non fault claim

Luckily they'd stopped, their car is still outside the house, not driveable. Was a girl who had only just passed her test 2 days ago. Good point Cuprabob! I'll sort out the repair tomorrow, was booked in at VW, so will be insisting it goes there still.

Just glad they stopped and i've got the details and that no one was injured.

I'd hate to think what her renewal is going to be!

Luckily it's only damage to metal and not people.

Unlucky about the car but at least the driver had the decency to stop. I had 3 in my old car where the driver disappeared, now got an agreement with my neighbour to use their driveway when my Scirocco arrives :)
