3C8035730B/5N0035730D Bluetooth

Post by cjpike »

Hello all,

Sorry I know there are a few topics on bluetooth modules, but I still can't determine if there is a difference between the 3C8035730B and the 5N0035730D?

I have a 2010 Scirocco with a white MFD, RCD 510 (with DAB) and the 5N0035730B bluetooth module under the seat. I am just looking to swap this out for a newer model for use with an iPhone.

I can source the 3C8035730B cheaper than the 5N0035730D which is why I am asking if there is a difference. 8)

Many thanks,
Chris

Based on this:

I think the B is older tech than the D, and maybe only supports a specific MFD...

The B will work with a red and white MFD. The D only works with the white MFD.

In addition, the B supports rSap only while the D supports both BT handsfree (ie iphones) and rSap.

THis whole topic is quite baffling tbh.

I have an 09 scirocco with red MFD

WHich module should I be looking for to allow it to work with an iphone 4s as there seems to be more than a few conflicting answers to this

Cheers

So to get the Bluetooth working you need one of the units that begins IZO?

Is that right?

Thanks

I dont think any of the part number spoken about on this thread work with a red cluster. However on that link provided the part number 1Z0035729b which is a Skoda unit was a popular mod in the past on Mk5 Golfs when bluetooth wasnt an option in the uk,i would guess that may be the one but i would check with one of the guys selling them on Ebay.

I've kind of given up on this tbh, too confusing, and no definitive answers! I wasn't too bothered about whether it would work with the MFD or not, as long as it displayed on the rcd 510, but even that is proving to be a tricky one.
THe ideal scenario would be a database of ALL part nos, along with a listing next to them whether they were rSAP only or compatible with both nokia and Iphones!

Have decided to ditch any idea of trying to fit a new OEM unit and will go down the aftermarket route for bluetooth.

It does surprise me that for a mainstream manufacturer like VW that there is no real straight answer on this subject about what will and won't work

It is a consideration, but they're £320 and I'm kind of thinking that if I'm going to spend big bucks then I might as well go for the alpine unit that does Bluetooth, satnav, iPod integration etc etc

Your mobile phone is not compatible. iPhone.

Hi there.

I have been having such an annoying problem and cant get any of the garages to look at it since it is a Sunday.

Basically I bought an 09 Scirocco yesterday and everything works fine apart from the Bluetooth. I try to connect it with my iPhone 5 and it finds it then says "Mobile phone not compatible". I thought it might be because the iPhone 5 is so new however I have tried it with my mates iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, Samsung Ace and still get nothing being compatible.

I have read on forums about there being an update or something. The unit is a RCD 510 I think. Thats what the book says anyway. I have no idea how to find out what firmware it is running as the long hold of the setup button does not do anything.

So in summary the bluetooth does find my phone (so the bluetooth does work) but just does not connect and gives the message mobile phone not compatible. Is there anyone out there who has any idea how to fix it?

Thanks very much in advance.

P.S. Unbelievable car, am amazed with it. :)
