RNS315 - 7 digit postcodes
You may or may not already know this but i was led to believe that the RNS315 Nav unit only supported 5 digit postcodes... anyway, just picked up my car on Friday and it now supports the full 7 digit postcodes which was a nice little bonus

I phoned up the maker of the RNS radio and they say it is a software upgrade which they can do for about £200 if you drive to their place in Surbiton, Surrey.
OTOH VW should not be shipping cars in 2012 with the old software.

True, however there are plenty of cars (for example a friend at work has a 2011 CC) with the RNS315 which only has the 5 digit postcode not 7 digit capability. I'm just wondering if VW would/could upgrade the software for these people...?!peter-h wrote:

You can update the firmware yourself on the RNS 510, maybe possible on the RNS 315 too?
