This is a screenshot of my factory module, long coding helper, it took the cruise coding no problem.
The only reason i ask is that i don't want a guide to appear that says you need a quite expensive part that you don't really need.
you are removing some more shear head bolts LOL !!, are they hard to come off ?, im looking forward to finding out about the moduleDAR wrote:Andy,
I did look at the coding, and it threw an error up. That may have been due to no switch, and the module not supporting it!
I am now intrigued, and my wish to find out is gaining in strength, i will take the SW off later and fit the D version.
Back into the garage we go, all in the name of progress!

yeh of courseDAR wrote:Shaun, the SW module is attached to the slip ring, the removal of which does not require the removal of the shear bolts.
I have just fitted the D version SW module and it does not support CC. You switch it on, and you don't get an icon in the DIS or the Speedo. I also went for a drive to confirm, no CC with a D Steering Wheel Controller and slip ring. It was also coded exactly the same as the H version.
I have refitted the H version and we have CC again, all icons, all functionality and no fault codes.
What is your part numberAndy-GTI wrote:It's still not clear cut. My Module has a different part number, and as you can see does take a cruise coding.
Did you look at the module long coding options?
I don't believe all models will require the additional module, so folk need to be careful if they are going to retrofit to not buy expensive unnecessary parts.
When was your car registered ?DAR wrote:Mine, taken a few weeks ago, before Cc fit.

D variant.
I appreciate your helpDAR wrote:Because to assist people I took the SW off 3 times, tried coding, checking connectors and recoding several times using the D module, however CC did not work.
I report that on here and I am wrong according to Andy-Gti. I know what I saw and did, and I now have CC working on a 2010 car, with a D version SW module.
However with the D version, despite VCDS showing the CC check box, and with me coding it, exactly as per the H Module (i.e with the CC Check box ticked, MFSW ticked etc) it would not work.
However make your own mind up, and have fun.
Just for reference, I made a mistake in my post. I have CC working using an H version SW module, not a D as per my last post182_blue wrote:I appreciate your helpDAR wrote:Because to assist people I took the SW off 3 times, tried coding, checking connectors and recoding several times using the D module, however CC did not work.
