Hi Looked at dealership today and saw GT Specs with gray roof linings and None GT with Black roof Linings so there does not seem to be a pattern ?

So what model has which roof lining colour ?

Don't take my word for it bu i think it depends on the exterior colour to which roof lining they choose

Hi, this has been covered elsewhere a few times already, The only UK spec Scirocco's with a dark, or black headlining, are the 2.0 litre petrols, all diesels and 1.4's have a light grey headlining, GT or not, it doesnt matter. I posted the email I recieved from VW regarding this, but not sure where it is now! Sure if you do a search you'll find it.

Hope this helps, Alan

I thought I read somewhere that if you had specced leather (maybe just black) then you got black headlining?

I think its changing for the MY2010. I saw a Scirocco on the dealership (UK) this week with Leather and Dark roof lining which appears to indicate Leather option now means black roof lining Scirocco or Scirocco GT.

I certianly is hard to work out what is going on with interiors v engines v non-GT or GT or Merlin cloth seats v leather. I've seen quite a few new built cars in dealers and it doesn't logically follow.

I thought so too. When I was looking around a dealer with various Rocs in stock that was the conclusion we came to after checking them all out.
Plus, as already said, all GTs have the black linings.
All far too dark for me - much prefer the lighter linings

Just did a search:

http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... ing#p18104" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2nd comment from the bottom. Looks like Leather and 2.0 Petrol get the black. Everything else gets Grey. And thats meant to have come from VW!

That did come from VW, I emailed them when i ordered my car and that was there reply. I knew it was somewhere on here, just couldnt remember where! Someone above says that all GT's have black roof lining, not true according to VW and I've seen a GT with cloth interior at my local dealer and it had a grey headlining. So that kinda confirms that. Bit rubbish really cause it looks great with the black headlining, but theres no way I'd have leather seats cause I hate leather, slippy and sweaty! And looks crappy after a few years.

So will my MY2010 Scirocco GT TDi 170 with leather, come with a black rooflining or not? I'm confused!

I went to see the car today at the dealers but forgot to check the roof lining !!

From what I've seen recently, it will most likely be black cos it's leather.

Volkswagen should give customers a choice of which headlining colour they want since they are usually a factory order anyway, personally i would prefer the lighter one....

Totally agree. Much better sat in the lighter test drive cars. Feel just like Nobby. I know I'm going to loose my wallett in it when I get sat in my own. Thats a matching black!

For info,

I wanted Black and no sunroof, they are a pain in countries where you get sun like here
(no I'm not a goth or a vampire or anything like that)

I like the cosy, closed in feeling you get with the low roof & everything black, I think it adds to the "coupé feeling" (even if it is a hatch back really  )

Had the same thoughts! And I hate it when parts of the interior reflects in the windows..

btw: It's not a hatch back! :shake:

Nope ! Definately too dark and too much black everywhere for my liking. I am very happy with my lighter lininings
I'm sure all that black must soak up the heat something terrible on hot sunny days.

Yup

I have an X-Trail with a sun roof that I never open, it was stadard on the car

If I open it I can't see the GPS screen and my poor little stubbly pink Englishmans head gets fried in 3 minutes flat :grumpy:

It's forcast 38°c here today (that's 100.4°Fahrenheit) and the last thing I want is a sunroof !

Give me Air Con, & lots of it

PS the X-Trail is also Silver with Black leather

Glad I came across this, during my test drive I was told the black lining was stadard with the GT package. I test drove the TSI with black headlining and the TDI with the light lining and didn't like the lighter stuff one bit. Definately another trip down to my dealer to find out what is going on...I have a TDI GT on order so if what you guys say is the case he'd better get it sorted.

Anything else I should know? TDI's come with 4 wheels right?
