Clutch and Flywheel replacement - how long should it take?

Post by RocMan »

Hi folks. Bought my car from a Renault/Nissan dealer and it's having the clutch and flywheel replaced under warranty (mine was making the 'mooing' noise releasing from a cold start).

Anyway it's been in the garage since Tuesday morning and I was originally due to get it back yesterday, the garage said a pipe had broken though and they would need to order the part which was delivered today. Problem is the wrong part was ordered and the correct one is now due tomorrow, but the garage reckon it'll be Monday before I get it back. I've got a loan car in the meantime (a Micra) but do you think this is taking too long?

Yes, it's taking too long but they have been transparent with the reasons, with regards to breaking the pipe and obtaing a replacement. Also, not being a VW franchise they probably are not familiar with the car hence ordering the wrong part.

By the time the part arrives tomorrow, with only working 1/2 day they would struggle to fit the part and have the car ready tomorrow. Better they take their time and do the job correctly than rushing and risking a mistake, which if happened, you no doubt would be very unhappy about.

You are still mobile, courtesy of the Micra so I would just be patient.

You're right Bob. They seem decent just that I've owned the car 5 weeks but been without it for 1 while the fault was first checked and now being repaired. Just want the Roc back
