I don't really put the foot to the floor often, most of journeys are short but have been on a few trips which were over 50 miles. I'm quite inexperienced when it comes to cars as I only passed my test in Feb 15.

How long you keeping the car for? If you've bought it outright it might be better to play it safe but I really wouldn't know either way. lol

Be careful you don't over Rev it, definitely don't rev it without load, but don't pussy foot the throttle. It needs some good pressure to loosen everything up and get the rings sealed with the cylinder walls. Also make sure you don't labour it under too low revs, it causes something called oil slicking, which is basically burned oil deposits bonding to the cylinder walls leaving a gap between rings and cylinder. At such a critical part of the engines life it could mean trouble down the line, along with the possibility your car might never reach its full potential power/economy wise and oil burning issues / oil getting diluted with fuel. Also try and keep your revs fluctuating, steady revs on cruise control for example are no good for getting it bedded in.

It's less of a deal for petrol cars than diesel with much higher compression, and nowhere near the same deal it used to be with modern technology, but it's still worth doing properly for the sake of 1000 miles.

Most of my driving has been short trips with a couple of motorway stretches . I occasionally accelerate to about 4to 5k revs whilst moving. I ease the brakes on.

Got a phone call from my dealer last night to confirm mine is getting built the first week of Feb! Far too excited now, will be even worse when I know it physically exists!

Nice! It's an exciting time. You can expect to get your hands on your new toy approximately 3 weeks after build week judging from most people's experiences.

Well we're aiming for 1st March, or a close as possible, hand over :D I always regretted getting rid of my first Scirocco so I am ridiculously excited :hyper: I can imagine I'll be clocking up fairly high mileage in the first few days / weeks as I won't be able to get out of her!

An R. So I was extremely envious when you picked up yours! I'm going down to see it when they initally get it in, not sure it's a good idea though as I won't want to leave without it :(

I've got an expected build date of March 1st. I placed the order for my Roc last Thursday (14th Jan). What realistic time can I expect it??

Got a bad feeling that the given date is a bit too good to be true!
