I picked it up too.
Certainly seems a little quicker than the official figures which is never a bad thing :)

They seem to like it in the review too.

I agree it did very well in the reivew, especially considering the cars it was against, which always have an advantage being rear wheel drive.

I am looking forward to when the magazines do a full review on the car and take everything into consideration then I can really see it comign out on top.

had a quick look at the evo artical and was surpised on the comments regarding the rx8, unfortunately the mid life botox and surgery has spoilt what was a pretty car, the myth of the road tester does baffle me somewhat as the punter seems to be overlooked, i've looked at rx8 previously but deprectiation, thirst for unleaded and indeed oil and rather high co2 mean it is a low mileage folly and not the torquiest of drives

they should have the section, if it is your own cash and you have to run it for 3 years where would you put your cash

I checked out the RX-8 when it first came out but basically didn't fit in the thing,i'm just under 6'2" so i'm not exactly a giant but i have got long legs. The driving position was a no go basically,no reach adjustment on the steering (don't know if they have this now) and the driver's seat didn't go back far enough, otherwise i would've quite liked one.Engines with that kind of power delivery are a pain day in-day out on the road anyway,it's great when you're in the mood but tiresome the rest of the time.I've been driving a renaultsport 197 R27 for the past year and it's an awesome little car when you're really on it,absolutely ziltch below 5k rpm, then it comes into the powerband and it's a little screamer, but you have to really pedal it and make lots of noise just to go anywhere,it's not exactly discrete.I'd rather have a turbo on the road but maybe i'm just getting old  It'll be a while before i'd own another high revving naturally aspirated car on the road, maybe when i forget what a PITA it is.well unless by some miracle i get given an M3 or a porsche or something  .RX-8s and type-Rs are out for me though.

I wonder why the conservative figures from VW,have they not timed it or do they just not want to upstage the GTi further or something ;) ,i assume they'd still like to sell some of those somehow.

well they are still selling some as my other half ordered a diamond black gti pirelli when i ordered the scirocco and in theory we pick them up on the same day, she wanted a hot hatch and using my if it was my money and three years get the run out gti

will be intersting to see see how they square up given her horsepower advantage, pirelli hated by edition 30 mob which i find amusing and like the love or loathe impact, she did get a cracking deal on it some 9.5% off list when free gap was included, i nearly went for one too in the blue graphite (looks like helios blue on mk1 pirelli/campaign) but we only need one practical car

i'm hoping they don't sell too many pirellis as the rarer the better come trade in
