Engine Cooling System Mass Defect

Post by rhcp128 »

Today I went to my dealer to check out a whistling sound my rocco makes sometimes when I change gears. As it turns out it is a defective pulley (not sure it's the right word) for the water pump in the TSI engines in all sciroccos. Apparently the dealer got a bulletin in April that Volkswagen are aware of the issue and are looking to source a new part... As soon as the new part is available all affected sciroccos will be recalled for replacement

I was quite surprised when I heard this, as I haven't heard anybody else here complain, but my dealer told me mine is already the second scirocco that has passed through them with this problem! They replaced the part on the first one and it started doing it

Anybody else with the problem???

Yeap. I'm afraid it's quite a common issue:
