I have rattling noises in rough road . My car is new and with the latest software ... I think that the rattle will never stop .... It is something with the hardware .I cant imagine that a software can solve the rattle :(
Also the words that our DSG is dry is big FAIL . Our DSG7 is dry at the clutches , the gearbox has 1.7L of Transmission Oil like in Manual Gearboxes(the 6 Speed Scirocco Gearbox has 1.9l Oil) and also it has 1L of Hydraulic fluid for the mechatronic, clutch engaging and for the gear selectors .
So why it makes sounds while it has oil?

My bad RW1. Won't happen again :)

the_winner: it is called "dry" in comparison to other DSG and auto trannies that have alot more oil. So while it does use oil it is relatively small compared to those that use say 4 litres or more of tranny oil.

it is dry because the clutch is dry . The other DSG with more oil is wet because the more oil it used not for lubing the gears but the clutch .
My english is not good and i cant write it so to understand it .I mean why a classic manual gearbox which use the same amount of oil to lube the gears like dsg7 doesnt make any sounds? Also Why DSG6 which lube the gears with the same amount of oil doesnt make sound?(same amount of oil FOR GEARS , the 5L more oil than dsg7 is for the clutch pack which use oil for cool down )

if the gears wad dry now we will not have gearbox :D at 20.000km the gearbox will breake . It has oil of course . But the rattle at the rough road it makes me to scare

If VAG were really concerned about that, they would recall the cars. The ain't doing so.............. They would put preventative measures in place like the engine change of 24s4 campaign. They are doing that with 37G7 workshop campaign which will be done when a Scirocco next visits the dealership for service or gearbox issue.

Last thing VAG want is a lot of busted cars.

In late March I asked you for a VCDS Autoscan which I understand you can't do which was one way of determining where your DSG is in terms of build standard.

But I also asked in March .......
RW1 wrote:Have you had the software upgrade in the DSG (Auto-Trans - 02 Controller)?
Have you visited your dealer to check your Scirocco is up to date, as there are changes and some address your complaint. But they will only minmise it, not rirradicate it. The updates include changes to the gearbox software for rough roads. A 37G7 dealer visit will incorporate this.

When it is known what standard of DSG 7spd software you have, then we can understand whether the software update is still not the full solution.

And as I stated previously ..... I don't have the problem with my Scirocco nor two other units since I tested on earlier DSG 7 spd software standards. So its not universal.

RW1 i will call my Dealer to check for any new updates ... The 37G7 what actually do? I read from you at vortex that is for when the car is for long time in P.
here in Greece we have not good roads and all users with DSG7(Audi/Seat/Skoda) can hear the same sounds . The 37G7 is update for the rattles also?
I have Windows 7 x64 in which i cant install VAG COM , If you want to help me , will buy a VAGCOM because it is a MUST and also i will scan for the DSG :D .
What i must buy for the vag com? and what to do so to play in windows 7 64bit?

37G7 sorts out a long tern non-use/storage of car, a problem where the software control of the DSG Mechatronic valves has an error leading to no drive engagement. As that is the latest, the software for rough roads control changes will also be loaded as part of the new software build. With it you will also get slightly different gear change/kph points and quicker gear changes.

The_winner: you may not have to buy VAGCOM which is official VW equipment and is very expensive. I have VCDS From Ross Tech. That works enough for scanning for error codes as well as changing settings for various equipment in the car. Way cheaper than VAGCOM. It however cannot be used to install software updates but you can get that at dealer.

lol!!!

VAGCOM = VCDS. Another example of VAG protecting their coyright/trade marks. Ross-Tech had to make a change a while back.
VCDS = VAGCOM Diagnostics System.

Dealers don't use vcds to do software updates do they? I'm sure they use something different from the Ross tech cables and software. Vas I think it's called. It is this sort of equipment that I mean is super expensive.

It depends on your build date. Your dealer can tell you that from the system.
Mine is not affected by the 37G7 at the moment. The Workshop Campaign is not set against my chassis number to be performed.

They use VAS and yes it’s expensive. But what may confuse is Ross-Tech supply VCDS to VW (USA) dealers with approval of VW (USA) as a quick tool for general maintenance work.

Is the software part reference.

Component: GSG DSG AG7 431 3029
3029 is the software standard.

So the update is not for all DSG7... It is for some models only right?

I think your Roc is 2009 build ... Why yours doesnt need the 37G7? I mean the 37G7 is a new update why your mechatronic doesnt need this update?
