12.5 volts on battery
I have been chasing a drain of my battery for months and think it was the dashcam on standby. Its much better now its disconnected but also found the car throws an ESP error at 12.5v is there a way to set the minimum voltage in the configuration files?

Re: Washers only work when the bonnet is up
Thanks for all the replies, I think the answer was staring me in the face and I did not see it - the dash was showing an open bonnet when it was closed and a closed bonnet when it was open hence the wiper/wash inhibition which was overridden by some speed sensor when moving. The bonnet switch connec...

Re: Washers only work when the bonnet is up
Thanks Cuprabob accepted the wipers only work if it sees forward motion but my wipers also work if I am stationary with the bonnet up so maybe someone could check to see if theirs does this as well. Its the washers that are the problem as the screen & headlight wash only work if my bonnet is up ...

Washers only work when the bonnet is up
I had a problem with low battery power some time ago then noticed that neither my wipers, front screen or headlight washers would work, I checked the fuses and all looked ok. Disconnected the battery for a while but nothing changed. Then I found the wipers would work but only above about 10MPH and I...

All I can say is I could
The car was made without parking sensors and I just used VCDS to tell the original head that it now has parking sensors

Re: Diy original parking sensors help can bus wires
I am guessing that there are no wires coming from the block because it was not wired in the factory. I think you have two options 1) Buy a pin with a short wire VW parts will sell you one to join to your canbus wire. 2) Buy the pin on its own to take the canbus wire direct to the unit (a much neater...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
When I sprung this on the salesman you should of seen his face :grumpy: it was clear they had plans for my car especially as they had more on order that were unsold. They had already tried the “we must road test it” even though the PDI had been completed. I even accepted an empty tank to stop them a...

The only winter problem I’ve seen this week is rapid steering wheel movement when I press the loud peddle. Resolved by an ear to ear grin

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Thanks for the info, not going to pick it up till mid March regardless as I am going on holiday at the end of Feb and I want 12 plate. A difficult call . . . . should you leave the car with the dealer to "play" with on trade plates - especially if its an R I think if its going to be there...

DIY fit PDC parking sensors
My Scirocco R came without parking sensors and I did not like the VW aftermarket kit available so I decided to fit original parts to allow the RNS510 display to work. The dealer was neither interested in doing the job or even looking up the parts and hinted that bits would be £700 without labour. Th...

My R has used 1091 litres of fuel in 7432 miles (30.86 mpg) I have seen 34mpg a couple of times but the trip to work (30 miles @ 70mph) will just touch 31mpg

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
Based on my walk of shame I managed to get 57.8L in an empty tank until (brimmed). My R will give a warning at 40miles and at this point it will take 51.5L & 52.25L to brim the tank When filled from zero I can get 53.5L & 54.0L in to brim the tank This means I have 6L from the warning to emp...
