I was quoted £299 by the dealer. Found a local firm that fits the same ones for £195. {This firm used to fit them for the dealer until they got the fitters trained}.

Don't believe after 2 month's of deliveries some of the dealers don't know the car comes with the ipod cable.

It does say coming soon upto 380 bhp.

I understand it's a matter of buying the insert with the MDI socket in. Take out the cd changer and blank insert. Connector from cd plugs onto MDI.
Don't know how much the bits are but I am sure andy-gti could get you the part #. As for fitting by VW.
