My car is set up for the 'long life' servicing as a company car. So it could potentially do 20,000 miles before the first oil change. Which reinforces the idea that it's really run in on the rollers at the factory. Needless to say, as I'm thinking of keeping the car after the lease I'll be changing ...

Yep, I certainly will. Running it in carefully at present. Had a couple of trips to 5000 RPM and 1 to the redline, but generally taking it easy, varying the revs etc.

Just picked my car up from the dealer, and went the long way home, about 100 miles, rather than do the slog down the motorway (meant I could vary the engine speeds etc) Really chuffed with it. Gimmick I think. I had a demo car for 3 days, and didn't see any advantage to using the LC over just turning the ESP off and managing the throttle.

Monday for me now 5 days to PDI it.

My build week 44 car is now on ship. Hoping for delivery next week, though that may be a bit ambitious.

I reckon, it's your money, do with it as you wish. Generally life is about trade offs. There are undoubtedly other things you could do with the money you're spending on the car. Better holidays. A home cinema system. Learning to speak Chinese. Laminate flooring. A puppy. Donating money to the labour...

Mine's built now! Next step shipping. Will probably call the dealer in a couple of weeks if I can wait that long.

Thanks fella, built it meself. Not as quick as the Scirocco though, and no adaptive chassis control or DSG.

I'll be happy when there's a few more about to be honest. I was a bit self conscious when I had one for a test drive for a couple of days, I'd rather not have the attention. I think that's partly why I never even considered the TT, a bit too much show for me. My other car draws a bit of attention, b...

I was hoping there'd be loads around by the time I picked mine up, to reduce the pose/attention factor. But I've still only seen one on the roads around here.

PS Whilst solving the rattling noise my brother noticed the cables behind the accelerator, he reckons they should be hidden or covered, can anyone please confirm for me whether or not these cable should be visible... I had the dealer replace the pedals so I'm thinking maybe they didn't tidy up prop...
