I can get 730 miles out of one tank in my diesel. (at an indicated 70mph on the M62, which has a couple of hills on it!)
I can also get less than 400 miles out of it, so who knows how you're getting better than that out of a TSi.

Re: Used prices... Hang on a moment.
I've made enquiries about ordering a new Scirocco. I was told that the order book is closed for the current model and it may be some time before they can take an order for a face lifted model.

Re: Facelifted Scirocco Official Pictures And Details
I like the colour pics luisguedes posted, especially the rising blue (as per my current car) they look better than the silver grey car in the official pictures, which is so dull. I hate the honeycomb grille, I think the current one looks so much better, and the gauges on top of the new dash look lik...

Re: Another tyre written off
Last April I had a (18") tyre ruined by a pot hole, 3 weeks later the new tyre was written off by 2 nails in it.

Re: 2.0TDI 140 MPG
My 140 with DSG averages 47.7mpg, (according to the trip computer, which was about right when I checked it against my own figures). This is on a regular mix of round town, motorway/dual carriageways and country roads. On longer motorway journeys I get about 58mpg (with a best of 63.6mpg on a local d...

Re: Scirocco GTS confirmed for the UK
I saw an Indium Grey GTS in York yesterday.
Sorry, but not my style at all. If I was going to spend the thick end of £30,000 on a car I wouldn't want the neighbours to think I'd ram-raided Halfords.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
If you have the MPG display (Consumption 1) on the MFD press the OK button (Middle one on the right hand side) on the steering wheel, it should then give you 'Consumpton 2' MPG. That is the lifetime MPG. Just remember it automatically resets after 99h 59mins or 9,999 miles whichever comes first. Yo...

Re: DSG box / sat nav
I've done lots of short journeys round town today and got 40.5mpg. On a longer motorway run I get 58mpg, but more spirited driving brings that down to 45-50mpg.
Colder weather knocks 10mpg off, in my experience.

Re: Driving in Europe
I've got most of what I need for my trip. I bought the VW safety kit, as mentioned by Wigit, for £18 which is about half the price of the individual items in Halfords. I also bought a VW spare bulb kit, it was advertised as £24.75 on a poster in the stealers but came up on the computer at £18 :) I d...

Driving in Europe
I'm hoping to take my Scirocco to France and Germany in a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any tips for safety kit, first aid kits and so on. Is it worth getting the VW branded accessories, or is that just the same as Halfords etc with an exorbitant dealer mark up? I'd also like to know if there's ...

Re: Fire extinguisher and first aid kit
The Touring Safety pack's First Aid kit is much larger (red pack). It's about twice the height of the boot corner pocket. Hence why I had to use Velcro hook pads on the top half. C. Does anyone have a part number for this kit please? (There was a picture on the post that I quoted, it's on the first...

Mine dropped 10 mpg in the winter as well. There's a thread about it somewhere.
Using harder acceleration always knocks 10-15mpg off mine whatever the conditions basically.

Re: 140 Bluemotion DSG getting rather low mpg ?
My TDI 140 with DSG has averaged 48mpg over one year from new. I get 58mpg on a steady motorway cruise, and 43mpg in more spirited driving. I've had a best of 64mpg (motorway, including roadworks with average speed cameras) and a worst of 32mpg (North York Moors, DSG in sport and not hanging around ...

Re: Boy Racers
I've just had a young man in an old Astra try to race me on a local dual carriageway. It didn't end well. I joined the road and passed a car and a lorry doing 56mph or so in the inside lane, and got my car up to 70 or so, and the Astra was some way behind, but he accelerated and caught me up, and st...

Re: Boy Racers
I've noticed this too, I started a thread before about the effect the Scirocco has on BMW (specifically 3 series)drivers, but have noticed other cars which always seem to try and race me. Vauxhall Corsa 1.2's (???) seem particularly prone to this behaviour. There is one road near where I live on whi...

Re: Scared of your Roc?
I've done most of the above with my Scirocco, including taking photos of anything parked next to it. :D One day I parked it in town, while I went about my business I passed my car and noticed someone had parked an old Fiat Multipla next to it. Said Fiat had faded (previously red?) paint, and was cov...

Re: Winter MPG?
This morning, with an outside temperature of -4C, on my 10 mile trip to my first appointment my 140 TDI did... 26.8mpg!
This was driving carefully (first time I've driven my Scirocco on ice) and not exceeding 50mph. It really doesn't like the cold does it?

Re: Mega MPG
Exactly gibbsy, I have a Scirocco GT, and I use it as a GT. I have to drive from North Yorkshire to London and back next week, mostly motorway, and congested at that, so not a lot of sportiness required. And I'll be able to do it without messing about refuelling. My old car would require at least 2 ...
