Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

Thought I'd drag this topic up again as I never changed car in the end, but am due a change in 3 months time. Ultimately decided on a Audi A5 coupe black edition but I'm currently deliberating between the A5 Quattro black edition 2.0 petrol. Or the 3.0 S5 black edition. Was looking for some friendly...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

jag f type is the real winner for me. but its a complete arm and a leg.

considering a 2nd hand vantage, but worried about the running costs of getting one 2nd hand (servicing / replacement parts etc.)

.. still waiting on the cayman.

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

they are nice yeh,
but theres nothing special about them that would make me buy one tbh.

if im changing car i wanna be changing for the better in terms of aesthetics.

theres nothing really out there that i can see that doesn't cost 40k+ tho... :(

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

i like the look of the new jag f type. pricey though Also very nice. Shame about the boxster - saw another one today, still really taken with them. i haven't written it off, i just dont REaallly want to spend £50k on a car now if there was a current gen 2nd hand boxster in the colour and spec i wan...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

New boxster for me. Seen a couple now (both white) - both absolutely lovely. New Cayman shortly too - maybe worth waiting for? boxster 2.7 - comes in at 42.5k boxster 3.4 - comes in at 49k not sure if the extra 6.5k is worth it or not... probably? new cayman would prob be awesome, but i imagine it'...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

Well while the Camaro offer you a very tempting 432 PS and a massive 569.0 Nm torque the urban MPG figure of 13.5 would put me straight off. That's their laboratory figure so you can expect to get less than that, possibly 10mpg around town  :shake: On top of that insurance will be heavy, road t...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

Well i can speak from test driving both. I test drove the cayman s (not the r) found it a bit slow. Handling and built quality def go to the porsche, on the other hand practicality and comfort id give a slight edge to the camaro. I was wondering why dont you consider waiting a bit for the golf mk7 ...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

Definitely Cayman over Camaro. Why a cayman over a 911? You could get a vantage for that sort of money... prefer the shape of a cayman tbh i do like the vantage - although it seems pretty impossible to pick up a white one for sub 40k. wasn't aware of those other 2, any other cars you can think of. ...

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

a vote for all 3 then - this isn't helping my decision making process at all :(

a cayman s with side decal would prob be the most sensible cayman to buy, so its prob a toss up between that and a camaro then

i was at one stage considering a 370z gt edition also

Re: thinking of a change... opinions needed!

The handling was actually alright on the camaro - granted the test drive was just up and down the motorway but whn it got the corners I didn't feel like it was having a problem getting round them
