The down side was it was a TDI the upside being the DSG. It was mainly the handling and the gearbox I wanted to check anyway. How did you find the DSG on the TDI? I have driven the 2.0 TSI with it and found it excellent, there were no TDI demonstrators around when I was looking for a run in one. G.
