Re: MPG 1.4 DSG 160
Sounds about right to me (mine was a manual) similar commute distance, I was really disappointed in the mpg overall tbh I went back to the dark side wished I'd just. Got the 2.0 as I don't think that's much worse mpg wise. It'll get better in the summer as the engine takes a while to get up to temp....

Re: MPG 1.4TSi
I averaged 28-29mpg from mine in 3500miles Mainly urban during the week and some longer runs at the weekend. Even on the motorway I had to be light with the throttle and keep <75 to keep it 40-42 mpg. I was very disappointed with the mpg, no where near the book figures (more so than any other car i'...

Re: 1.4 TSi Vs 2.0 170 Diesel
Having had a 1.4 tsi 160 Roc for 6 months and having driven a fair for 2.0 VAG 140 TDI's, they are completely different animals. 1.4 is a cracking engine, sounds surprisingly good, in my opinion trumps the diesel 1st/2nd ( as we all know 1st in a VAG derv is not great). But in the midrange for me it...

Re: 1.4 tsi twincharger turbo pull
trix,
Ah thats good to hear, it definately has a bit of tight feel to it at the moment, but your experience sounds promising of it generally loosening up and getting more efficient, as its such a unique motor not always sure if its just meant to be that way, if that makes sense.
Thanks again

Re: 1.4 tsi twincharger turbo pull
Thanks Chris, might just ask for the diagnostics to be run when i take it in for the rear end rattling then, however with the linear comments above im beginning to think it goes as it should, however the engine makes all manner of whining noises (not bad noises i might add) so not sure if id notice,...

Re: 1.4 tsi twincharger turbo pull
Thanks for the responses guys, I guess performance feels a bit inconsistent but it might just be my perception, Im thinking I might get it checked out for peace of mind as its a bit of a unique engine/drive. Ideally id like to drive another 1.4tsi that would give peace of mind!, but Matt your commen...

1.4 tsi twincharger turbo pull
Hi Guys, My first post picked up an ex demo 1.4 tsi (160) maual a couple of months ago, really pleased with the car but would like some advice on a couple of things: 1.
