Alloy Wheels

I've a lease agreement directly with VW. I note that their policy regarding scraped rims on alloys is that if its over 50% of the circumference of the wheel then I am liable for the repairs/replacement. I believe they also force you to undertake all repairs/servicing at VW approved garages - is this...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

So seven months later its finally arrived. Collecting on Monday. Hope its worth the wait and aggravation ! Stating the obvious but the dealer acknowledged that anyone who ordered August/September 2010 had suffered serious delays. Think he said something like between the two dealerships they have 140...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

thehippo - your dealer should be giving you a courtesy car much sooner than April i.e. now. I had a similar experience with an order placed mid August and at the time verbally told latest to expect delivery was end of Nov. I was car-less at the time and because of this I didn't sort a car for the in...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Markaddy - you should be able to get a courtesy car from the dealer. You may have to push hard for it but we managed to get one out of them... strictly speaking I think their contractural terms are 16 weeks and so if its been more than 16 weeks you should be able to get one.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Worked out that based on cost (as if i was to hire the courtesy car I have), vw will have spent approx 8k. Total value of my lease to vw is about 7k. Sure they have preferential rates with hire companies but even still - seems hardly worth their while providing my car..

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Finally...... Ordered 15th August 2010, Build Week End of Feb, Expected End of March (if it wasn't for courtesy car I think I'd be going crazy !)

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Someone should link this thread to Martin Winkerkom (CEO) who I note has had his contract extended !! For me mid August order and over four months later still none the wiser on a build date. I have a courtesy car from Europcar that VW are footing the bill for (since early Nov) - you'd have thought t...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Nickyj - the reason I believe I got a courtesy car 6 weeks before vw were contractually obliged to was because we pestered and complianed. We ordered 19th august and were told to expect nov delivery. We didn't have a car and as it bacame apparent that nov was not going to happen We argued that had t...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Gronk - Europcar who provided out courtesy car considered a Passat to be equivalent. What you've been offered is identical in terms of deposit and no mileage restrictions so maybe you can expect this?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Ordered 19th august, told to expect delivery by end nov then told end dec. We did hassle the dealer a lot saying that had we known it would have been longer than November we would have invested in an interim car back when we ordered and with rolling delay this is becoming an inconvenience. Our order...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Courtesy car arrived today. Vw passat six weeks before vw contractually required to provide one. More than happy with this particularly as it's costing me nothing. It should also give them an incentive to get the scirocco if they are paying for this hire car.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Surprised to have been called by a hire car company today asking when they can drop off our courtesy car. This is good news and maybe a sign that vw are starting to address the customer dissatisfaction. I am slightly dubious until I get it as contractually they don't need to give me one until mid De...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Heard nothing - though was asked for driving licence number when i asked for courtesy car offer to be put in writing. I assume this relates to this as opposed to any news from the factory being imminent. Decided to make pestering my dealer a hobby until they come up with something useful regarding m...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Irrespective of VW business strategy I think the dissatisfaction people report here stems from the lack of communication from and the run around given by VW and their affiliates. I know dealers are franchised, but from a customer point of view you see a VW badge and thats all you see. If you go in t...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Just to verify I have been offered a courtesy car if no scirocco by mid/late Dec. (16 weeks) from VW dealer. Ordered 19th August went on the VW system 1st Sept. THis is also for a company lease vehicle.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

The car on order for us is actually through my wife's company in her name. All I needed when speaking with vw Cust service was the vw order number. To be honest they arenot very helpful but can be useful to use to verify or discredit any dealer or lease company excuses. When I looked through the pos...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

Being in a similar position to many ( ordered aug 19th lease car, direct with vw finance - complete dead end talking to dealer, initially told nov delivery and now December 23rd latest) and having read stuff on here I called vw customer service today (as i have been weekly) and asked a number of que...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

I believe the shut down period was end of august yet whilst they told me my order was placed 19th august it didn't make it onto the factory list until 1st september due to this shutdown. Funny how this information has only just come to light.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

The latest update from our VW dealer following our order placed on the19th August. They have assured that we will definitely have "a car" (since we are carless at the moment) by 22/23rd December which will hopefully be the one we've ordered or a loan car if it's not ready. This will be 16 ...
