Re: Inlet Manifold Fail

Hold on a miniute, that's a crazy price for plugs and spark plugs... I don't car how little you know on car engines, anybody can change that. What are the symptoms of the inlet manifold that failed? If you spending 700quid you may as well go for an IE or a HPA inlet. silly money. Don't take It to V...

Re: Inlet Manifold Fail

As it's a known and common issue, if you have a FVWSH it might be worth contacting Customer Services and try and get some goodwill contribution. He wasn't interested. I checked the code myself and it's the p2015 code, cleared it and remained off for about 10 miles. Thinking I could buy the part. Am...

Re: Inlet Manifold Fail

The car runs fine, doesnt feel like anything is wrong but thought i would gey it checked out. They wanted to charge me £135 for the diagnostics. I wangled a freebie. Sometimes I think the lights are just there as a cash cart for vw. A common issue around 46000 miles? Contemplating trading it. Car ra...

Inlet Manifold Fail

Exhaust light came on in the dash and I dropped it off at VW. Was told it was a failed inlet manifold and a loss in pressure and was quote a price of £754.80 for parts and labour. I am not sure I want to take this plunge seeing as I spent £450 6 weeks ago on new coil packs and plugs. Advice please. ...

T40039 coil removal tool

I am looking to change my spark plugs (43000 miles) and am after the removal tool. Is the best place to buy from VW? From what I have researched the tool is £35  . Or is there a cheaper oem version available? Or better still has anyone got one which they wanna sell or lend?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. Yes think so. I will give that a go see if it works. It just feels a bit groggy. Not as responsive.

Re: Rough running.

Sorry to high jack this thread. I too have similar symptoms. When accelerating gradually from 30-40mph, the car judders as if it's not getting sufficient fuel. But at high speed it is ok. Do you guys think it's the same problem? It's done just over 41000 miles.

Engine coolant

Just checked my oil etc and noticed that the engine coolant is at the minimum level. I have been informed you can used distilled water to top it up to midway between min and max levels. Question is does anyone/can you use the distiller water from a dehumidifier? What do you guys recommend? Thanks Lo...

Re: DSG oil and filter change

No, it won't void the warranty, if you have one, as VW specify that the DSG oil and filter are changed every 40k miles. They do not specify a time frame, like every 4 years, for low mileage drivers, only the 40k mileage limit. VW also allow 1k miles grace so in fact you have up until 41k miles to h...

Cheers Cupra,

Its nearing 32000 so should be another year or so. However does this void the warranty on the gearbox? As I am waiting till it gets nearer 40K than changing it as its four years old?

Thanks

DSG oil and filter change

Hey all, I just got my filter change leaflet through from VW. It's four years old (09) but hasn't done 40k yet. It's done approx 31,500. Can I get it changed nearer 40k or does it void any guarantees as if not that's what I was going to do? Only thinking about this now as I was driving to work this ...

What tyres??

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I wanted to double check... All four shoes nearing the limit (2-3mm). Not changed since car has been bought and done 20000 miles. Original Pirelli Pzero Rossos. Not too bad a stint I guess for them. Been doing a bit of research and I reckon I've narrowed it ...
